28. Disable Aero Peek
If you hover your mouse over the Display Desktop button on the
bottom far right of your the notification area any open windows will
instantly be hide from view and all that you will see is a border
line of where they are. If you don't have any windows open then the
desktop will simply appear.
This is pretty neat or dare we say 'excellent eye candy'
however Aero Peek can become a pain if you are typing in a word
processor program and accidentally slide your mouse over the
display desktop icon. Instead of seeing what you are typing all
you see is the outline of the word processing application (or
website) and a nice picture of the desktop.
To disable this feature proceed as follows:
- Right click on a vacant part of the
task bar.
- From the Drop Down menu that appears, Click
Properties.
- In the Properties window, Look towards the bottom of
the Taskbar tab for the section marked
Preview Desktop with
Aero Peek.
- Remove the Check Mark (Tick) from the box to the
left of the Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop.
- Finally Click the OK button.
